Maylon E. Kearney, 88, a resident of Granville County passed away July 1, 2015 at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was a native of Franklinton and the son of the late Almous and Vanza May Kearney. He retired as a Baptist Minister and served many Churches in North Carolina and Virginia.

A memorial service is planned for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Sharon Baptist Church by Rev. Vernon Wilkerson.

Surviving are three daughters; Deborah K. Spencer, Angela J. Kearney, both of Oxford and Rhonda K. Blackwell of West Point, VA., two sisters; Ava Strother of Knightdale, Carolyn Kearney of Franklinton, a brother, Pete Kearney of Huntsville, Alabama, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Jones Kearney and a daughter, Sharon K. Lightfoot.

Visitation will be prior the memorial service at 2:00 P.M. and at other times at the home.
